Mount Manengouba and the twin lakes

Mount Manengouba is a mountain range located at an altitude of 2,411 meters in the Moungo department, Nkongsamba capital in Cameroon. It is made up of two craters called male lake and female lake or even twin lakes. The peculiarity of these is that one (male lake) has green colored waters and the other (female lake) has blue colored waters; the two being separated by a narrow stretch of land giving you Grand Canyon style thrills.

Visiting the Twin Lakes is synonymous with hiking, walking, horse galloping, panoramic views, and breathtaking scenery. One can discover there a village with agro-pastoral activity occupied by so-called “Bororos” herders.

Access to the female lake (blue in color) is simple and very practical. In this case, you can take the stairs and come out to a small beach where it is good to swim. The access to the male lake, on the other hand, is rougher and you will need more daring and courage to get there.
