5 reasons that make Cameroon an exceptional destination

1- All of Africa in one country

Cameroon is located in the Central African sub-region and commonly referred to as Africa in miniature because it is the crossroads of West and Central Africa, and the country stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Chad.

Cameroon is distinguished by a variety of reliefs, beautiful beaches, mountain ranges forged by volcanic activity, desert plains and high plateaus, as well as a strong geographical and human diversity.

2- An extraordinary story

Cameroon has two English-speaking and eight French-speaking regions. It’s a legacy of history; because the former nation under German protectorate is at the end of the First World War, divided and placed under the mandate of France and Great Britain.

Then followed a rebellion against the colonial power until January 1, 1960, when it gained independence.

3- A rich and enticing culture

The two official languages today are French and English, and nearly 250 dialects are spoken by the populations.

Cameroon’s climate encompasses all the varieties of African climates. It is equatorial, hot and humid in the southwest with persistent rains all year round; towards the north the climate becomes drier; in the center, south and west, it is equatorial with intense, light rains and two dry seasons.

Temperatures are subject to minimum variations of 20 ° and maximum of 31 ° depending on the period. Handicrafts are richly represented on the scale of 200 ethnic groups, that is to say 200 cultural realities on a diversity of land ranging from the savannah in the North to the Forest in the South, plus the mountain and a seafront.

4- An equally diverse fauna and flora

The country has one of the most important biological diversity in Africa. Cameroon is home to over 900 species of birds, over 300 mammals and many other amazing creatures.

Several protected areas are to be counted, including national parks, sanctuaries, black sand beaches, waterfalls, crater lakes, wildlife and plant reserves, abounding in numerous resources stemming from its biodiversity.

5- A welcoming and warm population

The population is mainly made up of young people, 43% of whom are under 20 years old. Several testimonies from foreign tourists who have stayed in Cameroon qualify the Country of destination where the local population is generally at your service and available to help; one can feel a warm atmosphere among families.

When you leave, if you forget to pick up souvenir items, someone will certainly have given them to you because the country is also known for its mutual aid between communities and the sharing of goods and small services between people.
